'Pochampally IKAT art Mela 2017' a 8- days Hand woven Eco friendly Handloom Products exhibition Kick starts at  Lions club of Visakhapatnam, Waltair road, Ramnagar.Chief guest Mrs Jayasree, wife of Kambhampati Hari babu, Member of parlament formally Inaugurated the mela and Dr G.Srijana-Vishaka joint collector Light the traditional Lamp. And graced by Godaba Prema Kumari, President BJP Vishaka mahila morch.

On the occasion Jayasree, said that “It’s nice to see various apparel, particularly Ikat Fabrics, silk and cotton saris, to be showcased for the Handloom Fashion Connoisseurs.“Handlooms are part of an age old Indian tradition - element of Indian culture and rich artistry”says Dr Srijana, Joint Collector.

 We support the artisans and local community who have been passing on their skills for generations. Promoting creativity and originality, each design is a result of individual artisan’s creativity which is influenced by the local traditions and cultures “said Mr Chikka Krishna founder chairman- Pochampally Handloom Park.

 The Expo will be on till 18th  may 2017, 10:00 am to 8pm.
