9th Jagran Film Festival, India’s Largest Travelling Film Festival, comes to Mumbai, September 27 to 30, for a grand conclusion with electrifying screenings of assorted top films across languages, cultures, nationalities, categories, and formats.

While all these films are best in their respective genres, the festival has shortlisted the top 10 highly recommended films to look forward: 

A STAR IS BORN: A strong Oscar contender, American musical romantic drama film produced and directed by Bradley Cooper, which is also his directorial debut. The story is about a seasoned musician Jackson Maine, who discovers-and falls in love with-struggling artist Ally. She has just about given up on her dream to make it big as a singer - until Jack coaxes her into the spotlight. But even as Ally's career takes off, the personal side of their relationship is breaking down, as Jack fights an ongoing battle with his own internal demons.

VILLAGE ROCKSTAR: An Oscar entrant, Rima Das’s Village Rockstar is the story of a young village girl in northeast India wants to start her own rock band.

3 IDIOTAS: 3 Idiotas is the Mexican remake of our very own multiple award winning Indian film, 3 Idiots.The plot, much like 3 Idiots, is a coming of age film revolving around a group of close friends who go on a humorous and memorable adventure in search of their close college friend that went missing five years ago, just a day before their graduation ceremony. It showcases the ups and downs in a friendship and the bond they forge while searching for their beloved friend.

EE. MA. YAU: Set in Chellanam, Kochi, the story of Ee. Ma. Yau revolves around the death of Vavachan Mesthiri in a coastal village. It showcases the events that unfold between two evenings and looks at death from different perspectives.

LEMONADE: Lemonade is a Romanian film based on a young Romanian woman named Mara, who has just moved to the US with Dragos, her 9-year-old son, marrying Daniel, an American she has met only a few months ago. The film follows her through a series of revealing encounters during one day, from her problems of babysitting, her unplanned and uncomfortable meeting with a U.S. immigration official, to dealing with the police about her son she had to leave in a motel room and the bank issue for a loan with her husband.

AN INSIGNIFICANT MAN: An Insignificant Man is the story of the most polarizing man in India today - Arvind Kejriwal. The film is a portrait of power, corruption and a controversial man. It gives view into Arvind Kejriwals brand of politics which has been labelled selfish, dangerous, anarchic and yet revolutionary.With never-before-seen footage, the film offers a unique insight into a fledgling political partys battle between survival and extinction in the largest democracy in the world. Capturing moments of triumph and despair.

ASK THE SEXPERT: A documentary film about a 94 year old sex advice columnist gains who popularity against the backdrop of a ban on comprehensive sex-education in schools in several Indian states.

VICTOR’S HISTORY: Victor’s History is a story about a proud son who hires a documentary filmmaker to immortalize his father's legacy. Tensions flare up between filmmaker and subject-and a rookie cameraman is caught in the cross fire-as the three travel across France unearthing family secrets.

JUZE: Juze is the story of a terrifying landlord in a small Goan village drives Santosh, a stubborn teenager on his path to self-discovery; to make a brave and difficult choice.

PUSHKAR PURAN: Twenty-nine kilometers from Ajmer, surrounded by the Aravalli hills, in the heart of the Thar Desert is a lake city called Pushkar. To the Hindus of the world, it is second in holiness only to Mansarovar. During the full moon in the month of Kartik, the town and the nearby dunes become an enormous fairground. Thousands of villagers bring cattle, camels and horses to trade. Folk artists, musicians, Ferris wheels and merry-go-rounds appear like a mirage in the desert, only to vanish with the decapitation of Brahma’s fifth head.

Jagran Film Festival took off on 29th June in Delhi before moving on with the journey to cities like Kanpur, Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Patna, Dehradun, Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Bhopal, Indore, Gorakhpur, Agra, Ludhiana, Hissar, Meerut and Raipur. The journey shall culminate in Mumbai between 27-30th September 2018
