hot news

Move over Radhika Apte. There is a new bold babe on the block. And her name is Raima Kapoor. Originally a Punjabi (like Sunny Leone), Raima Kapoor hails from Madhya Pradesh, but her family shifted to Great Britain when she was only 3 years old.

Says the spunky and devil-may-dare Raima Kapoor, “I have almost no memories of my childhood in India as we shifted to Great Britain when I was very young. I am a Punjabi, but the first three years of my life were spent near Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. Once we shifted to the UK everything changed.”

Now the 20-plus Raima Kapoor is back with a bang after about 23 years of living in the UK and ready to take on Bollywood with gusto and gumption.

She impressed director and producer Maneesh Singh at the first go who signed her on for one of his projects Bombay Dost which is based on lesbian and gay relationships in India. Raima will play the main lead in this project.

Singh who was looking for a bold new girl with a desi look and clean North Indian Hindi accent, but minus the qualms  of posing nude or topless immediately got to work. Shooting for the project now is in full swing and Singh is so besotted by Raima that he also signed her on for one of his Tamil projects as well, two days after she was signed for Bombay Dost.

Earlier models  Zoya Siddique and Tiaa had shot for the project, but the film was postponed when two artistes backed out after shooting for 4 days. The film is directed by Maneesh Singh, while the photography and creatives for the film  are designed by ace fashion photographer Frank Franklyn.  The film is produced by Vrindaavan Tele Films of Chennai.
