Asian Designer Week Summer Edition DAY 2 was about designs & innovations

The 2nd day of the Asian Designer Week was ruled by the NextGen Fresh Talent and NextGen Fashionpreneurs who exhibited vibrant and vivid ensembles that kept the audience hooked throughout the day. The highlights of the show include designers from Bangladesh, Srilanka & Singapore.  Other highlights includes Renowned faces like Hrishitaa Bhatt & Ms. Ritu Sain, acid attack survivor who were the show stopper of Designer Nidhi Mehra &  DesignerDisha Chadha .

 

The second day of the Asian Designer Week Season 4 opened with NextGen Fresh Talent (Students) wherein ten very innovative and interesting designers showcased their out-of-the-box creativity and design concepts that caught the attention of fashion enthusiasts and designers from across the country. Hrishitaa Bhatt walked the ramp for the designer Nidhi Mehra (Aahana’s) who showcased scintillating combinations and hues, the collection was ideal for any occasion. Acid attack fighter, Ms. Ritu Saini also walked the ramp for designer Disha Chadha. Hon’ble Chairman Sadbhavna Sewa Sansthan and Advisor- Govt. of Uttar Pradesh Shri Anil Singh also marked his presence in the event. The new breed of designers which were categorized into NextGen Fresh Talent, NextGen Fashionpreneurs, NextGen Fashionpreneurs 6 degrees, Newgen Asian Designer and Asian Designers showcased the collection.''

 

“We’ve received a great response on Day 1 of the Asian Designer Week. We’ve already started receiving inquiries about the designers. The Day 2 of ADW is dedicated to all the NextGen Designers from across India, and countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and Singapore. We’ve tried to bring out variations and versatility in terms of designers so that people can look forward to some of the hidden talents in our country.” says Mr. Robby Rawat, Managing Director – iGenius Entertainment.

 

From a wide range of designers to myriad ideas, inspiration, and a blend of age-old traditional craftsmanship with contemporary, futuristic forward designs, the Day 2 of the Asian Designer Week was a significant event for the fashion industry. Promoting PM Modi’s ‘Make In India’ campaign, many designers incorporated India’s traditional fabrics and handlooms in their collection giving a glimpse of the rich Indian heritage.

The designers under this category were Isha Goyal by Isha Goyal, Karishma Sahil Design Studio by Karishma Jain, Nazia Rahman by Nazia Rahman (Bangladesh), For Example by Disha Chada, Harshita Chauhan by Harshita Chauhan, Hemisha & Rachna by Hemisha and Rachna, Alike by Aklima Ali Nipa (Bangladesh), Talat And Ritambhara by Talat Nasim & Ritambhara Jha, Khushbu Sarda by Khushbu Sarda, Amukta Malyada by Amukta Malyada.

 

A Preview on the Collection

NAZIA RAHMAN by Nazia Rahman (Bangladesh)

The designer from Bangladesh takes inspiration from art, culture, and ethnic people. Nazia Rahman’s collection was inspired by the Garo tribe of Bangladesh. Garo tribe’s unique and individual sense of cultural attire influenced her designs. The collection tried to mix the tribe’s unique patterns, textures and silhouette with the modern day’s attire.

 

EXAMPLE by Disha Chada

Disha Chada is a 23 year old fashion designer, and runs a label with filmmaker Rubal Vig namedFor Example. The label started in 2016 and is based in Delhi. Disha’s collection reflected the high standard of lifestyle and experience. The collection was sugar sweet, boho and had a modern vintage flavor at the same time. The collection was inspired by gypsies, painters, artists, filmmakers, travellers, hand crafters and basically anybody who lives a life webbed by their passion. The acid attack fighter Ms. Ritu Saini was the showstopper for her! Ritu reflected the beauty of the collection through her strong personality. 

 

HARSHITA CHAUHAN by Harshita Chauhan

Harshita, an alumni of JD Institute Of Fashion Technology, Mumbai and has also won the ‘Best Innovative Collection- 2014’, ‘Best Researched Collection- 2015’, ‘Best Designer Of The Year & Best Innovative Collection- 2016’. Her collection was inspired by 60’s fashion. It highlighted the beauty of textures in Khadi. It is her take on resort wear and at attempt to give Khadi a different dimension!

 

TALAT AND RITAMBHARA by Talat Nasim & Ritambhara Jha

Talat Nasim & Ritambhara Jha both were born in Bihar & raised their designing skills at IMS DIA, Noida. Their collection stayed true to the nature and exhibited simplicity & classic style

 

Amukta Malyada

Amukta Malyada collection was on KOTA DORIA (fabric) which is attractive, lavish, and durable. According to the designer, “People think that the fabric is so simple; rather it can be used in modern, stylish and designer clothes.” Thereby reprinting in her city with its finest and fabulous fabric, she is encouraging its use it in various new platforms.

 

Hemisha & Rachna by Hemisha and Rachna

The ‘Great Gusto collection by Hamisha & Rachna showcased evening wear gowns for young ladies of Modern Asia, allowing them to express their love for nature and flaunt their magnificence in pastel hues.

 

Apart from all these, other designer labels namely Isha Goyal by Isha Goyal, Karishma Sahil Design Studio By Karishma Jain, ALIKE by Aklima Ali Nipa (Bangladesh) and KHUSHBU SARDA by Khushbu Sarda.
