Asian Designer Week 2017 concluded perfectly by Designer Anupama Dayal

The Asian Designer Week Summer Season 4 came to an end wonderfully on 7th May 2017 at the Talkatora Stadium, New Delhi with a galaxy of stunning designers. The last day of the ADW marked as a mega event of the capital with a majestic gathering of the national and international designers.

 

The finale of the ADW mega event started with the NextGen Fresh Talent Priya Jindal. The designer’s collection inspired by the beauty of the Indian craft and contemporary silhouette. Traditional touch with a unique feel and stylish look was the USP of the collection.

 

The pre-finale by Jyoti & Ricky also had the Indian supermodel Carol Gracias as the showstopper. Flaunting her stunning looks in wonderful apparel from ZAMA Collection by the designer duo Jyoti & Ricky Carol thrilled the ramp. The well-known face of the fashion industry, Carol walked the ramp like a diva and escalated the beauty of the ensemble to an altogether new level. Her confidence, beauty, and familiarity with the runway were truly evident!

 

The Grand Finale Show by Anupama Dayal concluded the event perfectly. The glittering event was a great success. Wrapped in bright hues and patterned flowers, her collection was an expression of joy.

 

NEXTGEN FRESH TALENT CATEGORY

Shika Agarwal showcased her collection with a nautical theme which referred to the sea and the ocean. Her collection was inspired by simple, smart, cool and comfortable dresses worn by the sailors in the summer. The outfits were combined amazingly with stripes, white & navy blue often with the touches of red.

 

Divya Jain from Beawar, Rajasthan is another NextGen Fresh Talent who introduced her collection inspired by Khadi. With an aim to take ‘Khadi’ from the villages to the urban wardrobe and make it a preferred fashion fabric amongst youth Divya took and turn Khadi into contemporary style.

 

Moreover, Scintillating Summers by Deepak and Akansha also stunned the ramp through their lovely collection.

 

The IIFT North Delhi Campus Students also showcased their wonderful graduation collection exhibiting the creativity. Their collection Vibration was inspired by beautiful yet bold hues and cages as the accessories on the attires. Collection was the perfect example of the striking beauty.

 

NEXTGEN FASHIONPRENEURS

FOLKLORE collection by Sana Sapra and Tanika Thakur was inspired by Mandlas which is known as a circle of life. Their collection reflects the path from “colorlessness to colorfulness.” With circular cuts, quirky prints and rich craftsmanship in embroideries with unusual techniques, they have added colors into silhouettes like adding color into the life. Their show started with wonderful live rock band music, which made the atmosphere to dance.''

 

Whereas, Designer Pooja Jain collection has drawn an inspiration from vintage styles, floral patterns, an array of colors, combining then with silhouettes and glorified them with careful detailing.

 

Saheba Singh, a Delhi based designer, also rocked the show by presenting her collection Sirjana which was a western collection for Asians inspired by geometric lines and platonic solids. Her designs catered together the complete globe – from net to knit; the cutwork amalgamating sequins.

 

Priya Goshthe NextGen Fashionpreneur designer’s collection ‘JOLLIFICATION’ which means to enjoy with others such as in small get-togethers, family functions, parties etc. She used shade dye techniques and handmade crochet motifs in her collection. Fabrics like cotton, cambric and cotton silk was very summer-friendly.

 

Another designer Anubha Sharma’s collection inspired by the Indian arts and crafts mesmerized people by vibrant hues and contemporary yet ethnic designs.


RISHI PREETI VIBHUTI the designer trio came with elements of surprises. The collection ‘The Persian Story’ by the trio flaunted a lovely blend of traditional techniques, innovative treatments and modern silhouettes. The fusion of colors and embroidery of the collection has shown elegance and grace. Moreover their show started with lovely kathak the traditional Indian Dance which made the crowd clap.

NEWGEN ASIAN DESIGNERS

THE KAFTAN COMPANY by Navin Rao aimed at bringing a stylish range of kaftans to accentuate the beauty of every woman. The company designs, develops, makes and sells the products under ‘The Kaftan Company’ brand. There Holographic Hues Collection at ADW will surely add colours in your summer wardrobe. Inspired by the natural, vibrant character of iridescence, The Kaftan Company showcased a beautifully colourful story representing the modern vintage fashion.

 

The collection AT by Taruna Bhardwaj was women’s western wear with detailing of sequin, embroidery, applique and bead work on various types of denim fabrics. Moreover the additional feature was laser technique and different type of washing treatments on garments.

DAMSEL IN DENIM – Beauty of denim is its versatility, comfortable and modern at the same time. Many shades of blue, grey and striped denim used collection have showcased.

 

The ‘Fringe Benefits’ collection by the designer duo Niveditha and Sampadna revealed the dichotomy of the sexes and the different ways that can be played out or interpreted. The spirit of duality was brought out in each garment with an emphasis on tailoring for the masculine and edgy structure with the counter points of feminine and playful accents.

 

MANIERE by Bhavika Bokadia has brought Emprean collection and Supriya Aiman the Indian model and crowned Glamanand Miss India International 2015 walked the ramp as showstopper. Here collection showcased pastels and pearls along with stylish cuts and patterns. The fabric of the collection was beautiful bridal satin, georgette, terry cotton and terry wool. The couture was created for men and women both.
